San Diego… we love it. Last year, I blogged a lot about our various stays in the San Diego area – Old Town, , Legoland, Disney Cruise Line departures, and more. It’s such an awesome destination with beautiful weather, amazing food, and something for everyone to do! Also, one of my good friends lives there, so that’s always an excuse to visit!
The boys in our family were busy last weekend, so my daughter and I took advantage of my parents’ vacation club points at Marriott Pulse – San Diego, and were so pleasantly surprised and impressed with the experience here! The car drop off for valet was super easy (it’s recommended as the self parking garage can be a bit crazy) and the staff was so courteous and friendly from the moment we arrived. We had an awesome room with a view of Downtown San Diego, where we could glimpse the ocean as well as the inland hills. It came with a full kitchenette of dishes, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, and amenities. The sliding door was a nice divider of the living area from the bedroom, my daughter loved having her own personal space! Best of all was the towel animal left on the bed 🙂 It was a luxurious urban accommodation and far more than we expected!
The room, views, kitchenette and service were fantastic!
Around the hotel, my daughter enjoyed the Kids Activity Center a lot! We rented several Disney movies for our room (which the set up service was phenomenal and they even gave us treats!) and she enjoyed making crafts and simply playing in the kitchen area. The staff was very kind and she loved the attention. They even have a drop off service available for parents who want to hit the gym or grab a drink! We also enjoyed the indoor pool, though we mainly used the spa – which has all the amenities of an outdoor Resort pool, but with skyline views of San Diego. The restaurant and lounge area was a bit crowded and didn’t have views, but the food was fine and the prices were reasonable. She loved getting room service one morning and feeling “fancy” – so that was a nice perk.
From room service to the kids club to a great pool, my daughter was in heaven!
As far as location goes, the hotel is a bit more inland when it comes to San Diego accommodations than some we have stayed at. However, we had a fairly easy walk down to the harbor area by Seaport Village, and had fun playing by the USS Midway and cruise ship terminals. It would also have been an easy walk to Little Italy or even Gaslamp Quarter for adults. That being said, a car is always nice in So Cal to explore, though Uber (or in our case a local friend) work just as well! San Diego has so many options and such a broad spectrum of interests, you almost have to pick and choose or plan a return trip! 🙂
The USS Midway and Liberty Station were some of our weekend highlights!
I book Marriott for Guests all the time and would love to help you plan your stay at Pulse San Diego! Where have you been in San Diego? What’s your favorite spot?
